We did it. The Battery-shield was successful on kickstarter.com!

Next Steps

We've already ordered the parts and will begin putting together the kickstarter rewards as soon as everything arrives. We also will have extra Battery-Shields so if you missed out on the kickstarter campaign or just want more than what your reward on kickstarter, we are taking pre-orders for additional units at www.elproducts.com.

BATTERY-SHIELD
the stackable 9 volt battery shield for Arduino style modules.

The Battery-Shield makes it easier to power you portable Arduino project. It gives you the same power as a 9 volt battery but in the form of a shield. This also allows you to easily stack Battery-Shields for more power. And each shield has its own on/off switch to selectively enable or disable a Battery-Shield.
The Battery-Shield supplies power through the VIN and GND pins on the Arduino Power header. The height of the Battery-Shield allow other shields to be stacked on top so the Battery-Shield can be anywhere in your stack or shields.

Specs:
Output: 9 volts (6 x 1.5v AAAA)
Capacity: 545 ma/h (using Energizer AAAA Batteries)

Battery-Shield

Picture
The Battery-Shield is a nine volt shield to power your Arduino, chipKIT, CHIPINO or any other Arduino style module.

Stacks on top of any chipKIT/Arduino/CHIPINO style module

Picture
The module supplies 9 volt power to any Arduino style module through the VIN and GND pins on the Arduino header. A power switch is also included to turn power on and off.

Stack the shields for more power

Picture
You can stack the Battery-Shield on top of other Battery-Shields for longer lasting power. The low profile of the Battery-Shield also allows you to stack any Arduino style shield on top.

Battery-Shield uses six AAAA Batteries to create 9 volts.
